Development Process
The development process involved the following stages:
Defined the multi-sided platform scope across owners, vets, and partners.
Designed the data model for multiple pets, documents, and the shop.
Built accessible, consistent UI/UX across iOS, Android, and web.
Developed the apps, admin CMS, reminder engine, shop, and community.
Tested sync, notifications, payments, and GDPR data handling.
Launched on the App Store and Google Play with ongoing feature rollout.
Challenges
The hardest part was building one synchronized ecosystem that serves several user types at once — owners, vets, retailers, shelters, and breeders each needing the right level of access to the same data. On top of that, the platform had to combine a health record, a payment-enabled shop, and a social community in a single app while keeping data handling GDPR-compliant and encrypted. We designed a flexible architecture that keeps these pieces in sync and leaves room for the continuous feature rollout the client ships.
Project Requirements
The client needed to replace scattered paper records and disconnected apps with one secure platform. It had to support multi-pet health records, reminders with push notifications, secure document storage, and record-sharing with vets and family — plus an integrated shop and a pet-care community — all synced across iOS, Android, and a web admin panel. Most importantly, the platform had to stay GDPR-compliant and scale into a connected PetCare network linking owners with vets, retailers, shelters, and breeders.
