Challenges
Keeping feature parity across three platforms was the constant fight. Android, iOS, and Web all move at their own pace, and the only way to stop them drifting apart was treating the API layer as the single source of truth instead of rebuilding logic three separate times. Traffic was the next problem. Millions of people checking vehicle details and making payments meant the backend had to hold steady under load — a lookup can't lag, and a payment definitely can't fail mid-transaction. Layering in multiple third-party vehicle data and service providers added more variables, since every provider came with its own data format and its own way of breaking. The hardest balance, honestly, was fitting registration lookups, challan payments, insurance, and FASTag into one app without it turning into a cluttered mess. Every new feature was a tradeoff between doing more and staying simple.
Project Requirements
The app needed to give users vehicle registration details, e-Challan status and payment, insurance renewal, and FASTag recharge from a single ecosystem across Android, iOS, and Web. It had to stay consistent across all three platforms, connect with multiple external vehicle service providers, hold up under heavy traffic, and stay simple enough for an everyday vehicle owner despite everything running underneath it.
